Long-time guide and friend to Oak Grove, Red Reed passed away from a short battle with liver cancer on August 5, 2007. 

Gilbert "Red" Reed was one of eleven children born to the late Johnnie Reed and Leona Moore Reed on November 1, 1941 in Cameron, LA.

Red is survived by his wife, Shirley Turner and his two sons; Rocky and Reggie along with six grandchildren.

We will open the camp in November with regret that Red didn't get to guide one more time for his friends at Oak Grove.   He will be missed, but not forgotten.
